Mithril, from an engineering point of view it isn't so hard to explain .... The first GPA's had the two turnlock's on eitherside of the engine-lid. Then someone must have complained about getting water trough this hatch. The engineer got back behind his drawingboard and thought of a three-piece lock...

I think the change was made during december '42 or januari '43, as my GPA's date of delivery 14th january 1943. Next saterday, 'she' will be 63 ....... :D , i'll ask my wife to bake her a cake !...

Thanks Leo, i think Jaap once said to me that your firewall came from Claude Thille in Luxembourg. I tried to contact him but it didn't work. So it might be a reproduction .... But it it looks very good, so i won't worry about it ! Looking forward for the dimensions .... Thanks, Glenn

Thanks Mark, it could be the weight problem, but i also think that i'm putting it to far on the tube. I just don't want to experience a submarine GPA  It's true that you have to assemble everything twice (or more times) before it fits. But it's worth it .... Thanks again, Glenn

Small compressor should do the trick ....

Hi Steve, i don't think this is a big problem. If you take a small 12Volt compressor with a small tank and a pressurevalve, you can use the ventilation lines that run from the inside of the tub to the axles to put a small amount of pressure on the axles. Just a little pressure should be enough ........
