Richard,

There are some drawings available at the Benson Ford Museum. However, it is not complete for all of the parts and the most important drawings (of the hull) are not present. Good luck in your search as everyone has given you very good info.

Peter, Been there, still doing it! I find it so frustrating how so many areas can get corrosion and what it takes to bring it back. The welder that I am using has taught me a lot on why certain things were done a particular way and why the spot welds on the seams, what is original, what has been rep...

Tony, It may have been made to look like a GAZ-46, but the shape of the hull is a GPA. I am pretty sure it is a reproduction and not the real thing. Leo, I agree Leo, if it plays a signifigant role in the movie, people will be very interested in it and we will see a lot more attention/desire for thi...

IJ4 and a GPA

Everyone, You will not believe this! It appears the new Indiana Jones Movie (No.4) will have one or more GPAs in it. I was doing a little research when I heard there was an "amphibious car" in the movie and ran across this photo. It appears that they have reproduced it for some function in...

Tony,

The chances of finding metal stamps that are the same font as the original stamps will probably be very remote. I did pick up a set of metal stamps at Harbor Freight (I believe they were 1/4" but I think HF has bigger sizes) and these may work for you.

Good luck,

David,

I far as I know, Richard is only making the rear spring hanger brackets. I will check with Richard and find out.

Thanks,

Rear Frame Bracket

Everyone,

Does anybody have a drawing for the very rear frame to hull support bracket? It is listed as GPA 5122 (RH) and 5123 (LH) and labeled as "Bracket - frame side member to rear cross strainer."

Thanks,

Donovan.

Alec,

Richard Sanders makes repros of these compression nuts. Check with him (they are pretty good reproductions) at

richard@completedrives.com.au.

Good luck,

David,

Very nice. I did the same thing with my GPA body. I think it makes the whole process easier.

Good luck,

Bob, It looks exactly like the one for my GPA. I would post a picture of it but I had to send it out to have it restored as the funnel portion was badly corroded. I think the early models had a straight tube small mouth shape and the late models had the funnel shape big mouth shape. Hopefully somebo...

Bob,

Good catch.

Martin, do you mean the tow hook for the front (which I have an extra original) or the front rope guide?

Martin,

Check with Steve Greenberg, I thought he was producing some of the rope guides in bronze. Another individual may be Brett Mullins, he may have had them done in aluminum (cannot recall).

As for the gas can support, I am also interested in what this looks like.

David,

The master parts list indicates that GPA 14447 "Connector-battery series" is 27-1/2" long.

For GPA 14301 "Connector assy. - battery to ground" it lists it as 7" long.

Sorry, I do not have pictures of these cables.

Good luck,

Donovan.
