Bob, I am so sorry to hear about what happened. Just be thankful you were not seriously injured. I hope your recovery is swift and with no complications. As for your vehicle, it was restored once, and can be restored again, it just is going to take time and money. Your biggest concern is that you wa...

Leo, The frame looks great. I almost thought there were some additions to it until I saw what it was setting on. Great job! I am just about that period where I must take my frame to the welder so that the corrections to the hull match where the frame actually bolts through (rear hanger locations). I...

1/4" Ford Script bolts

In my dismantling/restoration effort, I have never seen a 1/4" Ford Script bolt head. Now this may just mean when they were manufacturing my vehicle, they may have run out. I have 5/16" and 3/8" but no 1/4". Do people have these 1/4" Ford script bolts? Thanks, Donovan.

Jan/Richard,

Thanks. I am trying to see what type of Bendix drive would fit the starter. Someone told me the springs are larger/stronger on the 12V version as compared to the 6V. If anyone has a Napa or other comparable number for the bendix drive, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Donovan.

Starter Info

Does anyone know what the Auto-lite equivalent of the GPA starter is? I have looked at all my references and cannot find what the Auto-lite number would be. The manual says it is made by Ford and my starter says GPA on it, no Auto-lite number.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Donovan.

GPA Axle for Sale

Everyone,

I noticed over on G503 under GPW For Sale Forum that someone was selling a GPA axle in the New York area. If you need one, I suggest checking it out.

Matthew, I agree with Bob wholeheartedly and would change expensive to very expensive!! You have to be extremely patient (I looked for 5 years before finding one) and while I have run across a few they were typically in bad shape. If you decide you want to do this you must find one that is mostly co...

Mithril,

How much for it?

Fortunately, this item is easily reproduced so I do not think between what you might want for it and the postage it would be worth my while to acquire just this item.

Thanks,

Donovan.

Window Hinge Groove

Everyone, I need a picture of the groove where the inner and outer frames pivot. I have a NOS outer frame and a repro inner frame and there is a little binding when the inner frame is in the closed position. I want to see if I have to bend the grove on either the outer or inner frame. I am afraid if...

Bob,

There was no such support on my GPA. There should just be a band that hold the boot onto the transfer case and the special ring that connects the boot to the hull. No individual support in the boot.

Good luck,

Donovan.
