Richard, What happened to the exhaust pipes? Are you still going to create them or did I hear that somebody in Europe was making them? I am only interested in the the two pieces between the exhaust manifold and the muffler (I already have the other piece). Hope you had a good holiday, Thanks, Donovan.

Need Flat Head Screw Size

I have temporarily misplaced my modification memos for the GPA and I am trying to find out what the size of the Flat head screws that were used for the hatch hold down bolt assemblies. The flat head screw was used to hold the bracket to the deck plate. If someone could let me know what the size of f...

Tony/Leo,

I have a late model GPA and the plastic portion of the spoke steering wheel was black. There may have been too kinds and I am pretty sure mine was original.

David, My route was preservation and I intended to take my GPA swimming so I talked to some paint experts and they recommended a zinc etch primer followed by a two-part epoxy primer used for emersion service. I then followed with a two-part epoxy(?) polyurethane primer that was based on the 33070 co...

David, According to the FORD Master Parts list, it indicates that the part number is GPW10883, the same for a GPW. Given the proximity of where it goes into the block in relation to the dash, a GPW type temp gauge should work fine. Though I cannot say I found one, I had to use an alternative (that t...

Tony,

The tops were similar as what holds the seats but they were not sheet metal screws. They were oval head machine screws with nuts on the bottom as shown in the above photos. I hope this helps.

Everyone, I choose to differ on this as far as a late model is concerned. I took mine apart and it appeared to be folded over welting. When I tried to duplicate it it looked very similar except for the 60 years of aging and previous use. I believe I kept the old ones and would be glad to try and pos...

Tony, Because this site is focussed on the GPA, it gets less activity than G503. I tend to check this site infrequently due to this low activity. The G503 has the GPW forum (that is applicable to the GPA) which tends to get a lot of activity with a lot of very knowledgeable people. Also, when I am n...

Bob,

Thanks, I need the late model style. I just may have to buy oversize and have them welded up and drilled and tapped. The new wing nuts that you can buy nowadays are just too small.

Thanks again,

Donovan.

Wing Nuts?

Does anyone know where to get wing nuts for the engine hatch. They are larger than normal nuts for the bolt size?

Thanks,

Peter, Your efforts look great. I remember one comment my welder had as he tries to repair some of the hull. He indicated it would be hard to make some of the welds "look as bad as the originals." I told him I did not care as the welds were underneath the vehicle and "no one is going ...

Leo,

I checked my GPA frame and there is no such bracket. No signs there ever was and no holes to indicate that it could have been added later. I have no idea what yours could have been used for.

Good luck,

Donovan.

Bob, I reviewed your explanation and have a few questions: First you gave only right terminals for ammeter. Bob,

Thanks. Thats exactly what I needed. I am slowly getting the electrical system operational so that when the body is finished I can simply attach the dash and route the cables and be ready from that stand point.

Thanks again,

Donovan.
