Re: progress of 1359

David,

It looks so familiar; I am doing practically the same thing. I am saving the rub rail for last but not sure how I am going to preserve the part that has not rusted through yet!!!

Keep up the good work and if your going to Portland maybe we can connect.

David,

Contact Dennis Francis. He made them for me. (I would put his phone number but have misplaced it...Tony should have it).

Re: wehre to by?

Dan, Welcome to the forum? Where to buy a GPA. A lot of people are asking the same question. There are very few left that are unrestored and they can range in price from $15,000-$45,000+ unrestored. Generally the more complete the GPA is the more cost. If you try buying one that has a lot of missing...

Re: Hull Plug?

John,

Was it used on the GPA as hull plug for the access ports?

Hull Plug?

Everyone, I ran across this a type of hull plug that has the name Tri-Sure. I do not know if it is original but it sure looks of the period. I am trying to track its origin but has anyone seen something like this before? http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data/1075/thumbs/hull_plug.JPG Thanks, Donovan

Re: Rstoration of GPA 9398 up date

Hi Richard, Great job on this piece. I had to have the same thing done only we did just the bottom half of the part and not the whole thing. I am hoping the welder finishes the drivers side next week and then moves on to the passenger rear side and then hopefully done. How far along are you? Hopeful...

Re: wanted PTO

Peter, I have a spare PTO. I completely went through it and changed seals and bearings. The only thing that is missing is the control handles and I was going to copy the ones on my original to make it fully functional. If no one pipes in with a spare PTO closer to you, I might part with it (it would...

Re: GPA 2196

Tony, No you are not black listed, I have just been out of town and I could not adequately answer your questions. First, the brake line hardware. I could not find my original tabs that bolt onto the axle bumper and the only thing I have is the hose clamps that Jaap has been selling recently on e-bay...

Re: Questions on Restoration

Everyone, Thank you for your help. I thought they were original (both rear and spring supports) and I just wanted to be sure. While I like the idea of putting them inside I will leave it up to the welder to decide what is easiest. As for the brake hoses, I will have to see what the "hose man&qu...
