I thought the Fine Quand was misinterpreted from the real name of Fire Guard.. just the script letters make it look like Fine Quand..... This was perpetuated for a while by experts and books apparently....

I can't recall the exact price but thought it was around 75 dollars or so. BTW the original box is really neat and has a buy war bonds for victory ad or somethi...

David,

Joe at Vintage wiring of Maine is currently making me a set of cables. He has the GPA patterns. His is making the long one to the front, the inter battery cable and the ground. He was very nice to deal with and the pricing seemed fair with a 3 week turnaround.

Brake Hose Springs

Hello, I believe there are springs that take up the slack of the exterior brake lines... could somebody give me details on the number, locations, and spring mounting both on the vehicle and the lines themselves? Any pics would be most helpful! I believe there is a tab that mounts under the axle bump...

David, Sorry didn't realize you didn't know me or Dennis from this site. I'm Tony Castagno, I've been collecting and restoring GPA's for about 7 years now. Dennis Francis owns "wheels of the past" and among other things has reproduced many hard or impossible to find GPA parts for this comm...

I have the same bracket David. I am missing the end bits on the clamp that goes around the extinguisher. Mine still has the band intact. Any chance I can borrow this piece to have Dennis fabricate the clamping bits?

Thanks,
Tony

GPA 2196 Assembly Begins

Just wanted to give a quick update and thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far. I took the week off from work to head out to Oklahoma to start the assembly of GPA 2196. We built up the chassis and test drove it... Dennis actually got it up to about 40 mph in this configuration without brak...

Thanks Donovan for confirming a couple of things....

I still need to know the dimensions of felt and where each dimension goes... I will be in Oklahoma with the parts starting tomorrow so should have some better idea of what questions to ask specifically.

Thanks,
Tony
