Hello,

Can somebody tell me or show me a picture of how all the felt is supposed to be applied around the panels around the engine. I know it is stapled on and I see the holes... what is the dimension of the felt, 1/2 wide by 1/4 thick? What color should it be? I've heard brown. I have some pics ...

Gentlemen,

I got my capstan pto back from Dennis and figured I'd redo it as recommended by the members of this board. I am trying to be as accurate as possible. Here are some pics... I'm not done yet but found this small project to be fun.

As you may recall it was an NOS bare metal finished part ...

What are the dimensions I need on the two aircleaner hoses? I found a source for it that will cut to my needed lengths.

I know the one from the radiator to air cleaner has a long run, is it just self supporting? how does it make the angle from the pipe on the radiator to the air cleaner? Any ...

Come to think of it, my PTO was NOS as well still wrapped in the cosmoline... which puzzled me since I didn't remember it being a specific color... after speaking with Dennis, he told me that it was all bare metal, unpainted when he opened it. I guess I will strip it all down paint ...

Interesting... looks like the exhaust outlet hole was patched... guess it has to do with that big muffler :shock:

Interesting you chose not to cut down the original panel breaks... was that just to preserve the original weld? When I had to replace part of my rail... I specifically cut there, since the weld was orginally so bad and needs to stay that way.... actually It was very hard for Dennis to reweld that ...

Thanks for the update... that is very cool... I guess I will have to go with green since both you and Donavan have that NOS....

So on your old engine compartment... dipstick incorrect, top radiator pipe wrong angle, incorrect rubber hoses, incorrect hose clamps... not sure what the red ...

What are your opinions on the color of the winch PTO Clutch when it left the factory mounted on the GPA? I've seen several people with them Grey like the engine and many with it green. Mine is currently grey, but easy to repaint.... I know Donovan said he had an NOS one in green, but was ...

This is great information... I would rather see the moderation be to move it to one of the other sections in the site (Like G503 does) rather than restrict/reprimand a member volunteering a GREAT piece of GPA information most of us have never heard before and shut down its source...
