Winch PTO Drive
Hi Tony, "Now you are on the right track". :D A lot of work to pull it a part, clean it down, polish it and paint it. But once you have it mounted on that engine will have been well worth while. 8) Already the polished metal parts look great. Do post a picture of your finished item. I will...

Winch PTO colours
Hi Tony, Your GPA is really starting to take shape. "Looks good" Regarding the winch PTO drive. I am sorry but grey is just all wrong. When I restored my first GPA I was luck to get a NOS winch PTO drive. The cast frame is green, the pulley was not painted, just the colour of the polished ...

New GPA engine?
Hmm! " New", could be a bit of a leap of faith. More than likely it was in a GPA, removed, fitted up with 6 volt running gear, and then never used in either application???? I think I will pass. A rebuilt engine sounds much lower risk to me. But it sure will be a conversation starter...

GPA 9398 On the way to being restored
Hi All For the past 12 months I have been searching Australia for GPA parts to complete my GPA. This search has taken me many thousands of kilometers and to many fellow enthusiasts. A well known historian in Australia is Ian Grieve who has been responsible in saving at least 4 GPA,s from becoming sc...

Rubber Material
Hi Donavan, On my GPA I used 1/6 th incertion rubber for the brake hose fittings and skeg bearing brackets. This is black rubber material with a woven cloth through it. This was no problem for these parts. For the spring brackets I was concerned that this material is not very stong for the higher po...

Autolit number
Possible the reason no Auto lite number exists is that it was only made by Ford.
The only difference between the standardard 6Volt starter made by Autolite and the GPA starter is the bridging in the field coils. All parts other wise are identical.

GPA a float
Hi Bob,
You have done well.
She really is looking good. It's a lot of work to restore a GPA to such a high level, but well worth it when you finally hit the water.
Best regards
Richard
