Donovan, I replaced both the front and rear bump rails. On the front I left the small strip of metal that holds the caged nuts that the deck screws attach to. As you can see the rear rail was beyond repair without large amounts of lead or bondo. I just finished putting in new caged nuts on the rear ...

Thank you-- those measurements would be helpful.
If you look at the picture it has deck screws (1/4 x 20) holding the light brackets down.
My early GPA 1359 uses ( 5/16 x 18). Also what is correct for the capstan?

Richard, Tom Wolboldt tells me that your engine was built Monday March 1 or Tuesday March 2, 1943 in Dearborn Michigan. I think a good guess would be Friday March 5, 1943. The stampings are 3/32

I am not sure about a early and late one but I do know that very early GPA's did not have the two support brackets under this panel.
