Koer Wijker is better in restoring a GPA than placing messages on this forum.
So after a long tel. conversation abouth both our GPA restaurations
I agree with him to place his pictures.
Koer ownes this GPA since 1995 and it was in a terrible and incomplete
condition.
The GPA was found in Venezuela were it was laying for many years
with its nose in a river.
This resulted that he even had to rebuild the chassis front which has rusted away!
Everytime he made promises to me and himself with a date that it would swim but everytime there was another reason that he failed
to reach that date!!!
I visited him a year before I owned my own GPA and at that time I
could only dream of a GPA for myself.
With all the chassis and bodywork finished (done by himself) Koer reached that state that GPA 11397 was rolling again!!
Before installing the engine and gearbox he brought the GPA to the water
to see if there were any leaks.
After testing her there were only 2 or 3 small leaks.
Now Koer is working hard again to finish the GPA because he is
planning to take her to the international amphib meeting in Italy!
I almost can't wait to that first week of july because there will be a lot of
new fresh restored GPA's!!
