Voltmeter Plate

Post by robert de ruyter »

Hello,

I have received several questions if I will reproduce the Voltmeter plate  .
Before making it I was wondering how many GPA owners would be interested to have one.
Attached is my design of this plate. (this is not the real plate yet)
When enough interest I will also make the Propeller plate.
An interesting detail; as you can see on the picture GPA plates have a very characteristic font. I have redrawn this font in detail  .

Ok, I am aiming start june to have this plate, possible also the propeller plate available.
Also I have started working on the late style instruction/serial- and operation plate. :)
Nice detail; I can stamp the serialnumber plate with the correct stamp style which was used on the GPA.
I will update on this forem.

Voltmeter Plate

Post by GPA2196 »

I just received my voltmeter plate yesterday (plus the fire plates). Its beautiful, great job. I'm in a dilemma of whether to mount these perfect repros or my ok originals I've "tried to restore".

Also good news on the propeller plate. I've been buying the whole set of plates as they becomre available. Robert any thoughts on when the serial number plate will be available? When it is I would like both the propeller plate and serial plate. And also to have it stamped.

Many Thanks,
Tony

Hello Tony,

Good to hear you received the plates in good order.
I have already probems to keep up with the orders of the plate styles I have already made. It all done im my spare time, so you can imagine the comment sometimes from my better half  :!:

But to reassure you, I am also working on the other plates as you mentioned, but please give me the time to also finish those plates.
It would not be fare to already give a date when they are finished.

It's like a restoration of a Jeep, it takes time.
To give you an idear, the time I have spend reproducing the plates could have been used to do a nice restoraton of a Jeep :!:
To just reproduce plates is already done by more people, but to go to the level as I make them takes lot's of more time and attentive.
