I have read about these clips and seen Ford factory pictures. This is what I found when looking at my GPA. I guess this was used to hold the clutch cable in place during assembly.

Hi David

I also have an early GPA, could you pls post some of your GPA photos to share? My GPA was all dismantled into parts when I bought it and consequently many parts were lost! If you could post or e-mail me photos of the capstan winch frame, front deck and floor panels, in particular, I would appreciate it.

Thanks & regards

Hello David,

Thanks for sharing your photos, your gpa looks great!

You are lucky you have many parts that are usually missing.
You are also lucky she is allmost still in one piece. I bought mine completely dismanteled, your photos are of great help for me to put everything back together.

Good luck on the restoration, I'm shure she will end up looking as great as your weasel and DUKW :!:
Regards,

Leo Verhagen

Thanks a lot for the link and pictures. You have a wonderful GPA, it looks great! I learnt a lot of things from it, one of the things I was amazed about was that the chassis number is so early and that there are a lot of parts from the second series already together with parts from the first series. The sides, ventilator cover, dash, airduct doors and the brackets of the hull to fit in the chassis (early with 3 bolts and late with 2 bolts) are identical to mine. I was amazed that the second series started so early with parts like the lifting rings on deck, rear flooring, extra top head section to reinforce the lifting rings.
With your help I can now make better restoration on mine.

Thanks again
