Windshield studs

Gentlemen,

The studs that go on the windshield frame for the side curtains... I believe they are the later style GPW type that does not have a push mechanism... Am I correct? They just work with tension over the grommet? The early GPW had the push pin mechanism that release a little latch but these were changed in production around mid 42 I believe. So can somebody confirm that we need the later style stud?

I think it is the one with the push thing in it ,mine has those on it .

No Tony, early model on all the GPA's ... and this part is like a screw for the wood.

Thanks as always guys.... unfortunately my cost went from 2 dollars US per piece to 14 dollars per piece.... oh welll :) 2 dollars for repro late style each.... 14 dollars for limited NOS early style each

Am I right that what is needed is what we in the USA call the "capstan" style?

Carl,

The capstan type is the later type, on my windshield is also the early push type (gpa 8787 is from feb 27, 1943).
