My own one (GPA 7177) do not show too any evidence this kind of hook has been once welded to the dashboard.

It was present on my previous one (GPA 3403) ...

Maybe a field modification ?

My Gpa 3052 , has no microphone hook , and has no evidence of it been there at one time .
