Hi guys,

is it neccesary to use a resistance before the fuel-gauge ?

Image

Or is it just enough to just use a 12 Volt fuel sender ......

Thanks,
Glenn

Hello Glenn,

The fuel gauge is a 12 Volt version itself, it says 12V on the back of the gauge.

The resistor from the photo is for the large B-O lamp on the front deck.

Glenn I think Leo is right!
The fuel gauge is 12 volt.
You don't see a resistance in the electric diagram.
The same part number as on the GPW only on
the GPA it is market;GPA 9280.
Same as on the tank unit; GPA 9275.
Only the model on GPW is different than the GPA.
I told you I have a resistant on my dash unit and
I think this is because it is a 6 volt version.
I have the early model resistance on the left inner
fender /air outlet and later models , like yours have this
resistance beneath the deck.

GPA resistor guage

Hi,
On my GPA I used a normal GPW sender and a normal fuel guage.
All 6 volt. Then I added a resistor in series with the guage to take the voltage from 12v to 6v.

Hope this helps.

Best regards Richard
