Bracket on frame??

Does anybody know what the bracket on the right rear inside of the frame is for? (See red arrow). Is it original or not? Thanks for your reply.

I checked my GPA frame and there is no such bracket. No signs there ever was and no holes to indicate that it could have been added later. I have no idea what yours could have been used for.
