What paint are you guys using for your restoration.

David,
My sandblaster sprays on a 2 component primer after blasting.
This primer is used on modern military vehicles, trailers containers etc. for the Dutch Army.
After the primer I use the OD paint from Joop Staman, colour OD matt. I like this colour very much, but colours are a very personal thing.......
You've seen photo's of my weasel, I will use the same colour on the GPA.

David,
My route was preservation and I intended to take my GPA swimming so I talked to some paint experts and they recommended a zinc etch primer followed by a two-part epoxy primer used for emersion service. I then followed with a two-part epoxy(?) polyurethane primer that was based on the 33070 color with a satin finish (I did not want flat and the satin kind of looks wet).
I will not know how durable it is until I get the thing together and in the water. I do know that I made a mistake with a part and tried to remove the paint and it would not come off with lye solution as the old paint readily did. I ended of using Jasco pint remover (methylene chloride) with out any problems.

By the way, Donovan, your approach is right on target using the types of material you have selected. Epoxy and catalyzed products hold up very well. Paul
