Hi guys,
I finally got 5386 ready, so today I took it to the water and yes- it floated. Strange after 25 years with a DUKW but I am sure I will get used to it. A little water in the back, possibly the rudder gland, but everything seemed to work. See if we can make it to Amphib in July. Here are some pics of the great event.

Hello Bob

Your "little dukw" looks wonderfull!!
I ' m looking forward to see her in real at amphib!
O.K. , a DUKW is more a boat but I wouldn't swop
my GPA for a DUKW.
Have a lot of fun with her!!!

Hi Bob,
You have done well.
She really is looking good. It's a lot of work to restore a GPA to such a high level, but well worth it when you finally hit the water.

Best regards

Richard

Bob, do you still have the GPA-11990 engine in this marvelous vehicle ?

Are you able to provide me a close up picture of this GPA engine to update my website ?

Thanks for your comments chaps. I feel a bit of a fraud as it was a renovation not full restoration I have been doing on this one. The plan is to drive the GPA and DUKW to Arnhem for Amphib if all goes well. Mithril, here are photos of the data plate and the engine number, not very clear but I think you should be able to make out the numbers. I still have not found the number on the frame despite your photo, do I need to have the front deck off for this?
Regards
Bob

Yes, you do. The frame number is stamped in the front end of the frame, not on the same place as for GPW. Have a look around the top place with two rivets and an hole in front of the radiator, left side.

Thank you for those pictures.
