Hi David,
These bolts (there is 1 on each side) hold the surfshield in place during heavy water conditions.
Normally before you encounter bad weather, you flip the surfshield forward, slide the 2 u-formed plates behind these bolts and then you secure the surfshield with the 2 wingbolts.
This is a fixed bolt ! If you want i can measure the distance it sticks out of the side rail , so you can weld it on the inside of the hull.
Best regards,
Glenn

Thank you-- those measurements would be helpful.
If you look at the picture it has deck screws (1/4 x 20) holding the light brackets down.
My early GPA 1359 uses ( 5/16 x 18). Also what is correct for the capstan?
Thanks David

Hi David,
the height between the side rail and the underside of the bolt = approx. 7 mm or approx. 9/32 "
here is a closeup of the bolt :
and a picture of the brachet that slides under the bolt :
Concerning the bolts, i think 5/16" screws are used for the light brackets on all GPA's and the rest = 1/4".
hope this helps, best regards,
Glenn
