Greetings,
I have begun the restoration of the Cowl of GPA 5510. The data plates were replaced by the previous owner. There is one plate that seems odd to me. First of all, it is steel. Here is what it says:

ENGINE COOLING
FOR LAND & CALM WATER
A OPEN FRONT DECK INTAKE
B OPEN COWL SIDE OUTLETS
C CLOSE OUTLET ON COWWL TOP

FOR ROUGH WATER & SURF
A CLOSE FRONT DECK INTAKE
B CLOSE COWL SIDE OUTLETES
C OPEN OUTLET ON COWL TOP
D REDUCE SPEED AND OPEN
FRONT DECK INTACK OCCASIONALLY
TO HOLD MOTOR TEMPERATURE
BELOW 195 DEGREES.

I have never seen this plate on another GPA. It was located above the fuel guage. Does anybody have any info on this plate?

Second question: Where can I obtain the three Fire warning plates and the Voltmeter data plate?

Thanks,

-Steve

Hello Steve,

Your 'odd' data plate is correct (in steel) for early GPA, but it goes on a different spot on the dash, on the right side of the hand brake handle.
Below you can see a photo of that steel data plate on the dash of the GPA from Bob Asselbergs:

For all your GPA (and other) data plates you can visit the site of Robert de Ruyter. He has the best quality data plates (including your 'odd' plate, voltmeter plate and all 3 fire caution plates) for a fair price.
His site:

I hope this helps.
