Rudder repairs

Hi all,
Aside from the restoration work on my M29C weasel floater, I have been asked by Craig to help out with a few repairs to his GPA rudder. As you can see in the attached photos the rudder shaft in way of the tiller arm has been butchered . Rather than replace the complete rudder shaft I decided to repair the original rudder shaft by fitting a heavy walled metal sleeve. After separating the rudder from the shaft, I have machined the shaft down to size (approx 19.5mm) and pushed the new sleeve into position. I will weld the sleeve in place tonight. That's all for now. More repair info later.
Cheers
John W.
