Hi friends,
Today I installed this radio set to my GPA.
There is an official manual, TM 11-2707 for installing several type's of radio sets in a GPA,
but I never saw a picture of a GPA where a radio set is really installed.
You have to remove the passengers seat for installing the radio.
Only some factory pictures show a few sets installed;
You have transmitter BC 604 and receiverBC 603, sometimes two BC 603 sets.
Or you may have an extra tool / parts box installed in the set.
The frame where all the parts are in installed is mounting FT-237.
All come together with antenna MP 48 and antenna bracket MP 58.
This is the late version, up to +/- GPA 5000 this bracket didn't have the hole in the middle,
and the early one's didn't have this bracket at all!
Here is mounted on antenna bracket MP 58.
Also visable terminal box for the 12 volt power supply, ( market GPA)
This box should be installed arround GPA 4000, but in fact the untouched GPA 4926 didn't have this terminal box.
I recently was informing to a mounting for this radio set that belongs to a GPA.
The mounting has the name / number ; FM 55.
Never got an answer or somebody that has or have a picture of this ground bracket FM-55.
So I made one myself.
Here frame FM 55 with bracket /mounting FT 237.
Now reading the manual how to use
And now with canvas cover:
