John, Looking good... brings back memories ;) Yes I think running it first is the way to go. We found that we had a pretty bad transmission leak after running a while. I concur with Mithril about the colors... hopefully you are looking for input on these things, if not tell us to be quiet :) The oil...

Wiper Vacuum Line

Hello, I'm getting ready to do the vacuum line to the wiper. I have the intake manifold with two plugs (no center plug) Which plug should I hook the line to? I assume it is steel to where it passes up to the deck and then goes rubber to the steel line on the windshield to allow it to fold down? Ther...

Yes Glen, Same problem. I think we will be putting a spacer up inside the handle to take the slack up so the bottom of the handle to the start of the outer sheath is much shorter. Here are the parts that are called out under the Hand Brake group in the manual. Perhaps there is a special handle or sp...

Parking Brake

Hello Guys, Had a bit of a problem with the parking brake... I have the correct cable, NOS out of the big square box, and a GPW F marked handle... but when its all attached the handle has to come almost out all the way over a foot... it looks like there is only one way to attach since the outer shea...

Very interesting. This must be another mid series change because my manifold intake is marked GPA and is not drilled, I searched for a while to find one like that and did not know there were both kinds. Although my other one with the center hole was GPW. Here is a pic of my undrilled GPA intake. It ...

Shock Absorber Bolts

Hi Guys,

I need two shock absorber bolts... these are the ones that go through the hull and hold the top of the shock... does anybody have two? I believe I sold off my spares before realizing I needed two more :(

Yes looks correct. Donovan, I saw you're new Filler neck out at Dennis' it looks great. BTW it was funny I compared a couple I had to yours and they all had slight differences around the height of the flat part around just below the Cap... guess there was a little deviation on all of them. To answer...

David, Great speaking with you this AM. I will PM those addresses. I see your comment about the road tube for ventilation. My understanding is that the the intake manifolds I have that are marked GPA do not have the center vent but only the two on the outside. I used to have one like yours until I f...

David,

Thanks for the pictures that confirms what others have said as well. That is good detail. I noticed your GPA is running a later intake manifold with the PCV hole tapped and a line run through the vent box? Was this a late thing or just a mod someone made?

GPA 2196 Progress

Hello, I came out to Oklahoma to help with the GPA Assembly again. Here are some pictures.... Now just trying to figure out how the front wires get from the juction board to the socket under the front deck. It appears from some old picture I have they route through and on the outboard side of the dr...
