Bilge Pipe

Post by GPA2196 »

On the drivers side where the bilge pipe goes up through the floor and turns out of the hull to expell the water. On the floor there seems to be bolt/screw holes for a plate that goes around the pipe and covers the hole where the pipe comes up through the floor... does anybody have a picture or dimensions of that plate?

Thanks,
Tony

Here is a picture of the left & right cover plates.
You can compare the sizes with the belly of Jan Markering.
(You can see the reasons of this belly too!)
If you mail to Koer Wijker here in Holland (member)
he can give you the exact sizes.

Bob,

Thanks for the incredibly quick response as always :) I'm a bit confused, how does the bilge pipe come up through these? Or are these for something else? I don't recognize them.

Tony,

I think you mean the small U plate, this one is around the bilge pipe on the floorplate. The plate's on the picture from Bob, the small one is in front of the bilge pipe and the big one same spot but on the right side.

Here 3 pictures of the most forgotten Items on a GPA.
Like Cees mentioned one left & one right.
On the left , if you look good ,you can see a small
plate attached with 2 screws.
Like I mentioned before, Koer Wijker has measures
and probably produce them for you.

Ahhhhh.... now I get it... didn't even know they existed... I will have to dig through the parts looking for these... thanks so much! So I guess this picture also answers my question that there is no plate around the hole the bilge pipe comes up?

Once again to clarify what I meant... there is no plate around the hole in a circle.. but there is one that closes part of the gap the bilge pipe comes up through....

Got it!

Thanks,
Tony

There is a small plate rond the bilge pipe!
You see the plate with a bold and a srew lower
on the vertical floorplate.
Left from the above mentioned bold you can see
one of the two screws that attached the small
plate half around the bolge pipe.
If it is not clear I can remove this plate and take
a picture!

Bob,

Yes I see it... thanks.... I don't want you to have to take it off... but maybe just some measurements would help.... what does it do closest to the hull... does it lip over the floor or stop... looks like there is a bent rise parallel to the hull or is that the end?

Thanks,
Tony

I just had a telephone conversation with Koer Wijker.
Koer is the guy who sells those fantastic GPA rubber seals.
He is also very good with the iron work on the body of GPA's.
He can send you the drawnings of those plates or make a set
for you.
You can E-mail him and tell him what you want.
