Windshield Rubber

Gentlemen,

I need to know about the rubber between the inner windshield frame and the outer windshield frame... also what is between the cowl and the outer window frame? Also any sources?

Tony the rubber for inner outer is the same as jeep mb gpw.
The other one is canvas or rubber ask Mithril he has a drawing .

I will soon take exact measurement of the canvas seal for you if really needed ... but for such an early GPA than yours I'm sure you need an early GPA windshield.

This one used all the same parts than the GPW (rubber materials) around its inner frame and under the windshield itself.

I guess this change occured around mid december 1942.

Thanks for the help... so it uses the same as the GPW? That's cool... I'll go ahead and do that... My Estimated DOD is 15 November 1942... I'm restoring GPA 2196 with the FSMWO's applied so I am mixing some later things in as well... but will go with the early rubber from the GPW then. I'm keeping my original early solid steering wheel as well....

They changed/added mechanicals parts as required by FSMWO's but they never changed parts as a complete rear seat, a steering wheel or a winshield (except if it was broken) so yes, you have to use an early steering wheel and an early windshield. Both windshield models are very different and the one with the long GPW rubber gasket is the one you have to go with.

The other one is simply using a canvas at this place and the windshield frame itself is on two small rubber blocs at the place the clamps are on the dashboard.

Rubber shortage trouble I presume ...

Could you tell me what the difference is on the windshields? I didn't know this... I have 2 NOS ones... but I fear they are both late because they are NOS....
