WAC's in a GPA

Post by GlennV »

Hi Guys,

Here is a picture i found on the internet some time ago.

Image

After my attention faded from all these women, i noticed something strange about the GPA.

The registration markings are not painted on the same level !

Enjoy,

Glenn

Just a remark about the reg.number. Special issue for the show maybe?
Because this War Show GPA (date Jan 8-9) had to be realy brand new that moment if it is in 1943.
According Mithrills collected list this GPA is produced about that time, early/half Januari 43.
This GPA with USA 709808 is matching very nearly or close for that moment. Also because the distance ( road/railway) between Detroit and Los Angeles.
For the picture Jan. 44, the GPA is too undamaged for the driver.
Even when it is a female soldier! :-)
First conclusion, picture taken first week Jan. 1943.
Regards,
Jan

It would be interesting to find a flyer/leaflet of the show or copy of it.
Maybe "Buy War Bonds" !?
There is sure also something special with the 2-line reg.number.
