V Seals. In Bobs very useful book he mentioned V seals to assist the wheel seals. I was able to buy 4 over the counter at Griffith 100 km away . I have since bought 3 vs 25 and will fit as follows. One to seal the steering box where the shaft goes in, and one each side of the prop shaft bearing to keep sand out of the bearing and the grease in!.
The estimated return date for the hull is now January. It will take a lot of work to get it to Corowa 2019 in Mach.I will give it a go.

Re: Restoration of GPA 7757
Hullo All.My appologys for bieng absent from the site for so long. Over the last few days I seem to have made some progress. I have moved the engine, gearbox and transker case to the back of my truck.the engine has been started and run with some troublea with a blockage in the new fuel pump and dried out washers in the carby. The engine now has about 2 hours on it. the head has been re-tightened and the tappets checked. I have hooked up the gene and the regulator. I had difficulty gatting it to charge, the comutatior and the brushes were not good even though it was overhauled before it was put away. Itis now charging now but needs more tension on the brush springs. The brushes are 90% good. This is a job for tomorrow.
There is no definite word about the return of the hull and as Corowa swim in is not only 5 weeks away it will take a lot of work to ger it there. I still have to make brake and fuel lines, clutch relay lever, drag link after the engine is in the hull.
I will try to post more details as it happens

Re: Restoration of GPA 7757
Hi all. My appologys it is 6 months since I have updated this post. I recently had a week working on the GPA. I now have the air ducts, some bilge pipes installed, I left the long one behind! Will fix that next trip, soon i hope. John (son) wants to put on another coat of paint on and also cover everything with fish oil. After that I want to get the axles fitted.
One query that I have is what is the differencebetween GPA 3590 and GPW 3590 pitman arms ?
I have had made the 2 ends for the drag link ( 3304 ) they each have a 3/4 UNF female thread and will be joined by a length of 3/4 dianater stainless plated hydraulic ram rod, this will save having to squese the ends through the boot.
Moore and photos later.

Hi John,
I operate as the speaksmen from Rick
He asked me to put some pictures on the forum for your question.
As you can see, the angle is different from the GPW version.
You need this because otherwise you will have a problem with fitting the engine.
I hope this helps.
All the best from Rick & Bob
