Safety Chain Rings

Post by GPA2196 »

I have never seen a GPA with saftey chain rings mounted with the Pintle Hook like on a jeep.... however I have a couple I ran across while sorting some parts. I'm assuming they go to a GPW or MB or something? Am I correct?

Thanks,
Tony

Tony,

As far as I know you are right, there were no safety chains on the pintle hook, just like the early MB and GPW jeep had none either.
But you want them if you drive with a trailer behind the GPA and otherwise they may be very handy for tying the GPA down on a trailer for transport.
I will put them on my GPA. Think of it as a Field Modification.

Thanks for the reply Leo, By the way how do they mount? Do they just replace the lower two bolts on the Pintle Hook or is there something else they mount to?

Thanks,
Tony

Tony,

Yes, they just replace the two lower bolts from the pintle hook.

Thanks Leo, I will probably just keep them to put on if needed down the line.

Cheers,
Tony
