GPA winter enclosure

Post by bobassel »

Hello GPA friends

With this headline I know I' m kicking agaist "holy Houses" !
I know and realise it is not original.
Because I drive and sail a lot in my GPA in summer time
but also in winter time I deceided to make a better bad weather
protection for our Dutch climate.
I'm sure if GPA was more a succes in WW2 and the years after
the army would have added a better weather protection.
I don't want to drill holes in the sheet material so I used the
possibilities on the GPA which are allready there.
On the back of the GPA, I don't want to use footman loops, I used the small "lift the dot" pins that were allready there.
The side curtains are fastened with two zip fasteners so I
can open the front like a door, open the back or remove them complete.
The top is easy to install and I only used a little longer side mirror tube.
The result; a very nice warm GPA on water and on land especialy
when you open the two inspection holes on the floor!

Bob,

Happy New Year! That is beautiful, and great there were no modifications! How is the top bow bracket attached to the side coaming? Are there holes already there? I don't recall.

Top bow attachements

Post by bobassel »

Tony
Best wishes for you!
Here four pictures from the top bow attachements.
They are bolted together with the side rail / coaming.
I think, because you have a early one, you have side coamings
without profile and no reinforcements / antenna brackets to bolt
those top bow brackets on.
You can see more pictures at my photobucket.
