Oil
David
I use a little thicker oil.
SAE 120 GL 1 oil.(instead of a SAE 90 oil.)
This must be suiteble for hypoid gears.
That is an oil without dopes.
In my opinion todays sae 90 oil is a little thinner that
SAE oil from the old days.
I know it is strange because SAE 90 IS SAE 90.
But my results are good!

David there is a product called novulon it made in australia and it seems to protect everything against everything.David Welch wrote:Has any one found a product that might protect the bearings after water intrusion?
I use the same oil as Bob and it works fine, sometimes a little water in the front diff ,but it does not seem to mix with the oil.
I spoke to Jaap Rietveld some time ago and he said that in the US there is a oil wich also does not mix with water.
For the wheel bearings I use special grease wich is made for use in and under water .It is made for the propshafts bearings of boats .
It works fine only at the front I have to change it ones a year.
The rear axle is free off water , use V seals between the shafts and grease seal this keeps out the water even better.
