On the photos below are two fan blades, both have 6 blades but are different. The left (black) one came with my GPA engine, and I've seen this type on more GPA engines. But what about the right one? I was told it came from a GPA engine, but it looks different. Is there perhaps a difference in early or late type GPA fan blade, or is the right one from another vehicle? Who knows?
It looks like I made a bad buy on that second one, but this kind of mistakes you must make now and then, otherwise you never learn!
Lucky for me the fan blade was not expensive.
Hi Leo,
I bought one of the yellow fans from a Swede at Beltring last year, he said it was a Dodge fan, I thought I could modify it to use on the GPA. it fits but due to the reverse blade angle pulls air from the back of the engine towards the radiator (like the DUKW). Is it possible the Dodge engine rotates in the opposite direction to the jeep engine?
Regards
Bob
Glenn is right, it belongs to a PE95 generator with Jeep engine.
They push the air thru the radiator.
We tried to change one into a fan suitable for a Jorrit's GPA, but we could't get it propperly lined up after heating the metal. So we threw it away and made a fan from a Farmall vintage agricultural tractor engine suitable and it works great with a spacer on the waterpump.
